This document describes the new features in Veritas Discovery Accelerator 12.3.
If you are performing a new installation of Discovery Accelerator, follow
the instructions in the Installation Guide. If you are upgrading,
follow the instructions in Upgrade Instructions. These documents
are in the Veritas Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator\Documentation\English
folder on the Discovery Accelerator media.
Discovery Accelerator 12.3 includes the following new features.
By assigning the new role of Regulatory Reviewer to selected Discovery Accelerator client users, you can now permit them to delete items permanently from Enterprise Vault archives. New options in the Review pane of the Discovery Accelerator client enable these users to mark some or all of the items in the case review set for deletion. When appropriate, these users can choose to delete all the items by a particular author.
You may find this feature useful if, for example, you need to delete items from your archives to comply with data protection legislation such as the "right to be forgotten". By fetching the items into a case review set and then marking them for deletion, you can easily remove them from the archives.
Two of the Discovery Accelerator reports that you can generate, Case History and Item Details, now provide information on the items that the privileged client users have deleted from the archives.
Note that you cannot use this feature to delete items that are on legal hold. You must release the hold on these items before you can delete them.
For more information on this feature, see the Administrator's Guide.
Discovery Accelerator 12.3 includes support for the following Microsoft releases:
For the latest information on supported devices and versions of software, see the Enterprise Vault Compatibility Charts.
The Discovery Accelerator documentation is available in English, Japanese,
Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese in the Veritas Enterprise
Vault Discovery Accelerator\Documentation folder on the Discovery Accelerator
media. The documentation is also available in PDF and HTML format in the Veritas
Documentation Library.
